From a hard hat to an AI stage: a short version of how I got here.
I'm Wang Fei. Online I go by Next1. I live in Guangzhou and make fun things with AI, mostly where it meets music and film. This first note is a short version of how I got here.
012022 · Hard hat era
My working life started far from screens. Day one was a classroom full of new hires, the whole cohort in one photo. Not long after, I was out on site in a hard hat.
022023 · Night sessions
After work I set up a small studio at home and started making music at night. Pink walls, blue light, headphones on. That was where the "music" part of everything I do now began.
032024 · Walked into the desert
I walked into the desert and kept walking to the top of the ridge. I saw Ye in person and stood in front of a stage washed in red. A year of collecting feelings I wanted to make something out of.
042025 · On set, and a first AI stage
I spent days in studios with a film crew: green screen, slates, 16mm close-ups. Then came my first AI stage, an award at an Alibaba Tongyi AI creative workshop in Chengdu.
05Now
These days I build with AI: music shorts, little agent toys like Clawd, and this site itself. I'll keep notes here about the process, the experiments that worked and the ones that didn't.

012022 · 安全帽时期
工作的起点离屏幕很远。第一天是一整间教室的新人合照，没多久，我就戴着安全帽去了工地。
022023 · 深夜录音
下班后在家里搭了个小录音角，开始在夜里做音乐。粉色的墙、蓝色的灯、耳机一戴。现在做的一切里“音乐”那部分，就是从那时开始的。
032024 · 走进沙漠
走进沙漠，一直走到沙脊顶上；亲眼见到了 Ye，站在被红光淹没的舞台前。这一年都在收集想做成作品的感觉。
042025 · 片场，和第一次 AI 舞台
跟着剧组泡在影棚里：绿幕、场记板、16mm 特写。然后是我的第一次 AI 舞台：在成都的阿里通义 AI 创作工作坊拿了奖。
05现在
现在用 AI 做音乐短片、做 Clawd 这样的小 agent 玩具，也做了这个网站本身。之后会在这里记录过程，成功的实验和失败的都写。
